Jerk Chicken Tacos

One of our all time favorite spices is Jamaican jerk spice. Spicy, packed with flavor & delicious on a n y t h i n g !!

We use to buy a Jamaican jerk seasoning at Kroger in Atlanta buuuut out in the middle of no where, it's hard to find. When we moved to the mountains we started to make our own seasons from taco to chili to jerk!

For the spicy jerk seasoning, we start by throwing together 1 teaspoon each of the following spices- thyme, all spice, cinnamon, cayenne, minced garlic, minced ginger, lime juice & pepper paste for extra spice.

Usually we use chicken of some sort- thighs or breasts- but we have used this same marinate on beef. Whatever meat, or veggies, you choose will be incredibly tasty. I highly suggest using the marinate on corn on the cob, the spices cook into the cob so the corn in SO spicy and tasty.

When all your taco fixin's are fixed, load up that tortilla and top it with tangy pickled red onions. Don't worry, here's the 10 minute recipe so you can make your own!

Caribbean Turmeric Rice

We love rice. Usually we cook Turkish rice or good old fashioned basmati rice. We wanted to spice up our sides with some Caribbean flavors so we added turmeric, ground ginger and black beans into the pot as the rice cooked. WOW Y'ALL.

It's hard to eat white rice now.

*Throw in a tspn of each- turmeric & ground ginger & a hand full of black beans

I hope this inspires some of y'all to spice up your regular old meals with some out side of the box, cheap, ingredients! Send us your creations!!
